'Built in' XP CD Burning Question

  Chris Webster 22:13 05 Jun 05

just a query about the 'built in' cd burning software supplied with XP Home.

When i burn a file to disc the following warning window appears.

'Confirm Stream Loss'

'The file "???.???" has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying. The contents will not be affected. Do you want to copy the file anyway?'

Everything copies ok though, i was just wondering if anyone knows what this message means.

Thanks, Chris.

"(Note: if a "Confirm Stream Loss" dialog box appears, check "Repeat my answer each time this occurs" and click "Yes.") " click here

Happened to me the other day. I wasn't thinking and selected the "Copy" option instead of the "New" option. This may not be what caused your message but it is what you will see if you choose the wrong option to create a new file when you mean to copy one, or the other way round.

Also the same message will appear if you intend to create a new boot disk and select music instead of data as the medium.

Thank you for the info.

I was burning a copy of my CD labelling software that i'd downloaded plus a copy of Ad Aware SE V1.06 so i could put it onto a few friends computers for them.

Cheers, Chris.
