Building my replacement PC for the first time

  BigDunc 23:59 16 Jan 05

My new PC will be both for general use but also for analogue video capture from my Hi8 machine and Adaptec capture card. (Thinking of an AMD 2.8GHz with 80Mb and 200MB HDs and 1GB RAM with a 128MB video card.)

Should I consider a SATA drive and PCI express? I don't want to complicate things even more if I don't need to!

No need. Ide drives and an AGP card will be fine. Will do for DV capture as well with the other system spec.
