Building and hosting a forum - how?

Is there an easy way to build and host a forum. I have downloaded phpBB2 but am unable to use it successfully.

There are many forum builders around, rk19. Two of the easier ones are Ikon Board click here and EZ Board click here

I found YaBB is another good option with plenty of forum(!) support. click here

It's worth noting that with most of these types of sites you will need to have access to a cgi-bin folder on your website. Check with your host to see if they support cgi scripts.

Hope this helps

thank you both. I think my problem may be lack of support for cgi scripts. I am using Pipex at present but also have access to Tiscali and Plus-net. Do you have any other recommendations?

There are forum sites, you don't HAVE to host yourself.

Ezboard has been mentioned, but try click here , Delphi Forums click here , vBulletin click here and many others.
