How do I stop those very irritating "bubbles" that keep appearing telling me my "system might be at risk..." &c?

Hi, "system might be at risk" bubble is indicating that your anti-virus is not up to date, or that you don't have a anti-virus running. Keep your anti-virus up to date and the bubble should not appear.

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicrosoftWindows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Create a new DWORD value, name it EnableBalloonTips, and set it equal to 0. If EnableBalloonTips is already there and equal to 1, set it equal to 0. Quit the registry editor, log off, and log back on. Voila! Your computer will stop talking down to you.
