BT Wireless Network1250 Problem

  miner 16:40 24 Dec 07

I have had two pcs running connected by the BT Wireless Network 1250 for the past couple of years. I am using the BT-supplied 2Wire gateway router.

Lately the 2nd pc, connected via the house phone line and the BT 1250 PC Network Adaptor refuses to connect to Broadband.

Broadband is available at the phone socket used by the 2nd pc and in fact this unit when hooked up to a BT Home Hub which I have available, connects fine but I cannot use this method to access the 1st computer - there is only ethernet or wireless connectivity available with it. The 1st pc is too far away for wireless and I don't want to string ethernet cables around the house!

I have tried reformatting the drive and reloading WXP and starting from scratch but when trying to install the pc network adaptor I get 'Unmountable Boot Volume' errors which I can clear, but which then reappear when trying to install the adaptor again. I have changed the adaptor as well but the problem remains.

Any ideas anyone please?
