I have a BT Voyager 1500 wireless router connected to Virgin modem. I have set the security SSID name and clicked hide and it still shows up the name of the router to any computer i bring in the house and it then connects with no problem the name shows up and I click connect, surely it should ask for the SSID. How can I secure the connection

“Security SSID name and clicked hide”

The SSID is not the security name

The SSID name is only the name for your network, so that any wireless device can connect seeing that you have not set up the security code

There is also no need to hide the SSID name until you have set up the computer security

Check out these site before you setup the wireless system could save you a lot of time and headache.
