BT Voyager 2110 & Netgear adaptors (111 & 511)

Hi clever folks - can anyone help with getting Netgear gear to work with my new BT ADSL Voyager 2110 wireless router on 2 oldish laptops? My new HP laptop with built-in wireless picked up the router in seconds and works fine. So me thinks it's the Netgear software(?) which is the challenge, not the router. The other 2 laptops have a Netgear WG511 card and a WG111v2 usb adaptor - both can "see" the router but they won't auto pick up its IP address so I can hook into the interwebby doodah. I've ticked the "auto find IP address" in the wireless network part of windows (both laptops are running XP) but still won't hook up. Help (please use simple words for a novice!) very much appreciated. Cheers, Paul

Are you using the Netgear utility or XP to manage the wireless ? If using Netgear try letting XP manage instead , it usually makes a better job of it . How old are the are the " oldish " laptops , and have they got Service pack 2 for XP loaded ?
