BT Total Broadband and Outlook Express

I have just upgraded from BT Broadband to BT Total Broadband. When I click on send/receive in Outlook Express I get an error message,'your POP3 server has not responded in 60 seconds' I did follow the link when I set up Total Broadband for it to automatically change the settings so that it would download my emails to OE but it doesn't seem to work. I am sure their is a fairly easy fix for this but I am just not getting it at the moment.

Check in OE, tools-accounts-properties-servers (both & make sure there is a tick in "my server requires authentication".

Thanks for this, the box was ticked already but one thing led to another and it prompted me for a password and hey presto suddenly started downloading all my emails and seems to be working now.
