BT powerline extender and wireless access point

Can I use a BT powerline extender then plug in a wireless access point? I'm thinking of using an old Netgear router as the wireless access point.

I've done this and it works OK. If using an old router, I found I had to change things in the router setup pages to get it to work. I'll try to find a link.

Here is one example. If you google the model of router and 'use as an access point', you should be able to find details.

Netgear Page.
