BT Broadband modem conflicts with other USB Device

Today is "Broadband day".

mmm!

The installation was a breeze!

But....!

Could connect to the network OK but was unable to browse. No web page would open with the usual 'Could't find server' message.

I have found that my HP840c printer/driver is at fault.

I have 2 USB ports on the PC with BT and printer plugged in to each.

Uninstalling the printer driver or disconnecting the printer from it's USB port renders all OK.

Any suggestions?

Is your modem self powered or does it takes it's juice from your computer? If the latter that could be the problem.

Thanks MG!

It's the latter.

How will this cause a problem?

Hi again,

Because your power supply is not up to it. I suggest you get yourself a powered USB hub. Best place is from a computer fair I find. About £12.50 usually and will cure your problem pronto.

Many thanks MG!

Today I shop :-)
