BT Broadband (error 691)

"Still no fix"

Signed up to BT Broadband Basic last November, everything worked well
untill Friday, clicked on icon, up came box asking for username, entered
username, then clicked on connect, it them starts to test the connection,
after another box comes up I click on restore settings after about 90
seconds it logs on.

The error message is: error (691)

I have to do this every day.

Checking a number of other forums, it would appear as though you have entered a "username and/or password has been entered/provide incorrectly. Check your username and password, and remember this case sensitive".

Another possible solution suggested, is to re-install your modem software [check for updated versions]and start from scratch.

I'm Pretty sure that you do not have to supply a password as BT relies on "caller line id" to verify the connection (this is the case with me on BT BB and a friend on one of the commercial BT BB packages)you just need to put in your user name and leave the password area blank.But as SPUDS says you may have to reinstal your modem/router again.Hope this helps.
