Bt broadband confusion,

  Kingfisher 22:26 18 Aug 08

A friend of mine cannot connect to the internet,I am unable to get to see his pc, but he has a bt 220v adsl router, all the lights are solid green, butwhen he clicks in IE he gets a dial up connection dialogue box come up asking for username and password, he previously had usb connection from router to pc, but has now changed to ethernet, but still had the problem of not being able to connect with usb. I thought that you didnt need dial up with broadband, can I delete existing account and create a new broadband account I am not sure how to do that, or could it be something else OS is win xp sp2, any comments would be useful before I trek over there and have a look myself thankyou
