I have a Packard Bell Laptop computer and it is running Windows XP Home Edition.

When I start my computer I get a screen saying 'Sorry for the inconveniece.....' then options such as 'Safe Mode' and 'Last Known Good Configuration'

I have tried all of these and they all lead to the same page which reads:

"STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\DEFAULT
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance."

Thats exactly what it shows (on the Blues Screen of Death)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I don't have a recovery disc or and XP disc)

Thanks!

You will need to borrow an XP CD.
