BSOD on boot up;any ideas?

win98se ;ironically have just done a thorough scan disc and full defrag;

I do have the avg scanner do a boot check at boot up;

BUT; on boot up I got

a fatal exception has occurred at

0167:BFF86EBD plus a lot more text

a google search is not much help; anyone any ideas?

I have just switched off and completley rebooted successfully ; I am hoping it a fluke BSOD BUT rather ironic after my long scans today!!

my thorough scan disc did find some errors; BUT I did NOT reboot after but merly restarted

the win 98 system does its own registry check ON bootup( so I gather!!)

I am hoping it does not recurr but do have other machines IF I need them (hopefully NOT)
