i am new to computers again years ago i used to use BASIC on a sharp mz700 and com pets ect... is there a basic symulator ??? that you can use on xp computers now days an old dos prog i guess cheers

There is a free version of basic whereby you would be able to transfer your previous skills.
Qbasic is very similar to the old type interfaces for writing programs.
This site should contain all thet you need to get going. click here

If however you wish to update your skills (a bit of a steeper learning curve) the link in the above post is where you should start.
