Browser Problem

A friend is seeing pop-up error messages very frequently and usually quite shortly after launching his browser. He sometimes uses IE and sometimes Yahoo's own browser. He's got a relatively modern PC and runs XP SP2. The screenshot shows the offending message together with an MSAS flag. A similar error occurs if he launches IE.

Any ideas please you guys??

I had a similiar problem with IE,the only way i could resolve it was to carry out a defrag and run a disk scan.

I believe it was a corrupted file that was causing the problem and doing the above resolved it for me.

Thanks mate. I can't see how a defrag would make any difference but SFC Scannow might be a useful route forward. I'll ask him to do that and I'll get back with the results.
