Brother MFC 6490CW

Anybody got any personal experience of this A3 printer?

I've read most of the on-line review sites, but would be interested in some "hands on" views.

My wife does water colours and oils and sells prints from photographs done by a local copy shop.

Will the Brother produce comparable quality?

Had one for over a year now. Bought it solely for its A3 capability, at such a reasonable price.

From a Photo Printer point of view I found it slower than a dedicated Photo Printer. Not really a problem, I am in no hurry.

Colours...and this is solely a personal view...are a little less saturated by default, than I would like. Remedy:- raise the saturation in software by 2 clicks on the file to be printed. As I said this is a personal preference, others may well "see" differently.

On the whole a good buy and more economical than similar printers from the likes of HP & Canon. Though printing photos at A3 can use large quantities of ink whatever machine you use.
