broardand usage

How do I know how much broardband I am using. I am thinking about one of those USB's for when I'm out from home, but don't know how to judge whats what. At home I use about 3 or 4 hours a day average.

Can you elaborate on the 'USB when you're out'?

When I was out the other day I saw a divice for sale that was like a usb stick & provided pay as you go broardband - assume via a mobile phone connection or something.....I was wondering how cost effective it was.

That is to say to compare costs with for example a connection from a Travel Lodge or Travelinn wifi system.

A WiFi USB dongle for plugging into a laptop is what you saw, click here shows a range of them. Of course, most laptops now come with wireless built in, so you wouldn't need one.

Many places offer free broadband access, McDonalds, for instance. You don't need to go in, just sit outside.

Elsewhere, you may have to sign up, click here for instance.

Another option would be a service that includes a dongle, such as click here

i use the 3 USB internet dongle, have done so for about 7mths. When you connect to the internet you can check how much usage etc from the 3Connect software or there website.

Im sure this applies for vodafone and other dongles
