Broadband Router help - Please!!!

I am new to routers and 'wireless' technology and need advive on setting up.

We have a main PC (3 years old) with Virgin 20mb cable (ethernet) broadband.

We have two laptops upstairs (kids) that are wireless enabled which we want to get on the internet.

1. What sort of 'router' do I need in order to get the laptops on the internet (wirelessly)?

2. I have an old wireless-G Linksys broadband router which I have connected via the ethernet cable to my broadband modem and then the other cable (from the router) to the main PC. Does my main PC need a 'wireless card' in order for the laptops to receive the signal?

3. Have I got the correct 'router' or am I doing this all wrong.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

“2. I have an old wireless-G Linksys broadband router”

What is the model # of the Linksys router

“3. Have I got the correct 'router' or am I doing this all wrong.”

Need the model # as it could be for ASDL system and not for a cable system
