Broadband Problem - No Adaptor?

I currently have a broadband wireless network in my flat, however, out of the blue my flat mate's IE stopped working. It will still connect to Windows Messenger Ok but when it comes to IE when the program is executed the window flashes up briefly and then disappears with no warning or description of an error. However, he occassionally gets pop ups appearing from apparently nowhere.

The OS is Windows XP and his PC is connected to the Wanadoo box by ethernet cable. Can anyone help?

Has he got a popup blocker installed?

My thinking is that his home page has been hijacked to one his pop up blocker will close. If he has a popup blocker disable it.

Mine did the same, I simply unplugged the modem for a couple of minutes and when I plugged it back in all was fine again

Cheers, I'll give some of them a go and report back soon!
