broadband modem

My broadband modem freezes after about 10 mins online, and i cannot surf the web. all the lights stay on on my modem, the modem will then not disconect, the only way i can get back online is to reboot and start again. is it a virus or hardware problem?.

Can you access the setup screens of the modem? If so, disconnect and reconnect.

The problem is probably a poor line.

Two things to check in Device Manager:

Find your modem (mines under Network adaptors). Action, Properties, Power Management, uncheck 'Allow comp to turn off...'

USB Root Hub, find your modem and ensure it is the only device on a hub.
