Broadband info

If you come here regular you will know that i was having a lot of broadband problems mainly dropping connections,this past three weeks i and the ISP have tried everything but no good, so i decided to ring netgear to see if they could offer any help, so they advised me to upgrade the firmware for the router and hey presto not one dropped connection this past two days, could something so simple have been causing these problems or do you think my ISP done something at there end.

I reckon the firmware upgrade was the answer, I doubt very much whether any ISP would make changes just for one individual.
