Broadband Connection - Phone problems

When I am connected to msn and the house phone rings and someone answers it the connection drops.

I have filters on all the lines in the house (2) and have swaped them around to no avail.

Check BT for what services you are paying for as I think its one of these knocking you off

The most likely cause of this is interference from the analogue (phone) portion of the signal to the digital (broadband) portion, which is causing corruption of the signal.

One way this can happen is with a faulty filter. A voltage spike caused by the handset being lifted, should be filtered out.

Another would be from a cordless phone causing radio interference.

You will have to experiment to find the guilty party.
