Broadband arrows on the taskbar

If I hover over the green arrows it says 'Upstream/Downstream (kbps):288/576'. This never changes, but it does roughly equate to a speed program I tried. In view of another thread tonight, I have to question whether this is a figure put on by the program and not a measured figure?

Broadband always connects at the same speed (as defined by your service agreement and the connection on the DSLAM you have). It doesn't have to try and negotiate a signal in the same way as dialup modems do.

The speeds you have are correct for a standard IPStream 500 connection (512Kbps connections).
