Broadband & Fibreoptic Compatability

I have recently moved into a house where the master telecoms box has been set up for fibreoptic broadband. Is there anyway to get our regular orange broadband to work from that box or do we need new equipment or can the phone comany switch it back so it's not set up for fibreoptic? We have an Orange Livebox and usually run it through an ADSL filter straight into the phone line

Please help

Just because it has a fibre optic BB doesn't mean yo have to use it.

Have you tried just connecting the Livebox to the phone line as normal and as Orange set up BB on your new address?

Yes Orange have set the BB up it went live on 8th Aug. I have tried just plugging it through the phoneline as normal but with no luck, it says unidetified network Access: local only

Then it will load the Firefox start page but won't connect to anything. The @ symbol on the box continues to flash red and doesn't go green

Some things to try

Type "cmd" in the search box press "ctrl" + "shift" + "enter"

at the DOS Prompt type "netsh winsock reset" and hit enter wait 30 seconds and retry to connect.

If that doesn't work then maybe a IPv6 problem 1. Run regedit. 2. Navigate to HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\tcpip6\Parameters\

  1. Rightclick on Parameters

  2. Choose New > DWORD Value

  3. Replace with DisabledComponents

  4. Doubleclick on DisabledComponents

  5. Enter value 255 (This will Disable IPv6 completely)

  6. Close Regedit and restart your system
