Bought a nano, rip apart my my mini for d-slr?

Hi all, I've had a nano for a while now and my ipod mini is gathering dust and has been doing so for a good few months now. What I'd like to know is: Can I utilise the microdrive from the mini in my d-slr? Will there be any format/recognition problems? Will I be able to use the full capacity of the drive? What sort of write time benefits can I expect if any over compact flash?

I've no problems pulling the mini apart, it's served it's purpose and reselling is a pain, plus this is a little project for me in my spare time. The camera in question is a 350D.

Sounds a bit risky to me. If I were you, I wouldn't mess around with the camera, just incase something un expected happens. I know this doesn't really help you question but it is advice.

I'll tick this as resolved and re-post in a more photography related forum. Thanks for the advice GuZ.
