boot from USB HDD

  Staz 19:02 12 Feb 07

I have changed the settings in BIOS to boot from my usb hdd. I disabled boot from the built in drive but it says no operation system found. I know there's one on there cos it's the hd from my old laptop. What do I need to do? do I need to tell the drive i want it to be bootable? and how?

Even if you get it to see the drive it may not bot as drivers will be wrongas they are for your old laptop and not what you are trying to boot on now.

Make sure USB for dos is enabled in the BIOS

is there any way off booting up my old copy of xp other than getting my laptop fixed?
