boot up problems

i hav tried to switch my PC on this morning but it didnt start up, a blue screen appeared with the following message:

unmountable_boot_volume

STOP:0x000000ED 0x81788640,

0xs0000032, 0x000000, 0x00000000

--------------------------------------------


i tried to start in safe mode but the same message appeared.

Does anyone hav any idea wot this means, and also how to fix the problem?

any help wud be great

I too have been fighting for a month to get into my drive with this same blue screen message except STOP:0x000000ED (0x827A2900,0xC000009C, 0x000000, 0x00000000) HOWEVER an MS Dos disc lets me see that the C drive is still there with all files as expected but will not change to D HDD nor will it accept either CD drives. Cannot boot from CD, installation from floppys also leads to a demand for CD.
