boot problem

my neighbour has asked me to look at her computer which doesnt boot. it is a gigabit motherboard. i have opened it to make sure everything is connected and seated properly. it starts the boot process, recognises the hard drive and cd and dvd player then blank screens as if it is just going to present the xp screen, but nothing, it just stops there. there are no error messages. the only screen that comes up is a raid screen, but you can bypass this by enter or just leaving it and it proceeds. any solutions. THANKS.

Your neighbour might have to make a bootable CD to boot up her PC.

If you could start it in Safe mode, perhaps you would then be able to do a System Restore?

how would you do this though without a prompt. am i missing something.
