Boot problem

  Kishore 14:41 20 Sep 06

Every so often when I start the computer or swith ON from 'Sleep' mode, the computer fails to go thro' the boot-up process. The screen remains blank (black). The only way it recovers is by swiching OFF and ON a few times.
Any suggestions what could be going wrong? The computer is now about three years old.

Check power options in both windows and the BIOS.

Under 'Power Options' the settings are as follows:

Turn off monitor: after 1 Hour
Turn Off Hard Disk: Never
System Stand-by: Never

I am not very knowlegable on this subject so I do not know how to check the BIOS information and what to look for in the BIOS info.
