boot problem

My computer starts to boot up after hibernating in Windows XP and then fails. Re-start again seems to be OK.
Any body got any Ideas

Have you enough disk space for hibernation?

How old is the PC?

From email (sigh):

"Thanks BigElf. I think I have enough disk space. (60gb) 256 ram. When I switch the m/c back on after hibernation it begins to start then goes back into hibernation mode. Switch back on and all seems OK. Hope thats clear."

From email:

"PS. 18 Months old."

I asked because I wondered whether it was new enough to cope with ACPI.

stop hibernation is the simple thing to do. The problem can be cured but it a complex job.
