boot log won`t edit

when I removed xp from my pc that left win me now I cannot edit the boot lgb file so that windows boots from me and dont give me the option to dual boot win me ox xp how do I edit the boot so it returns to the original boot config so I dont get the dual boot option.

Start Windows Explorer.
On the View menu, click Folder Options.
On the View tab, click Show all files, and then click OK.
In the root folder of drive C (or the boot drive), look for the Boot.ini file this is the one you need to edit.

I cannot find a file called boot.ini any where on my pc

Try going Start then Find ....type in Boot

yes tryed that dosn`t show a file called boot.ini only boot.lgb is this

Try going Start then Run type in


and hit ok

This should bring the file up in notepad.

boot.lgb is a backup file.
