Boot Failure after Viasraid sata driver install

  No idea 19:07 13 Jul 06

Hi, Running xp pro on asus A7V600-x, Two drives one is Sata the other IDE.The system is booting from the ide channel. The sata drive used primarily for storage of photos and files etc.. All m/soft updates installed. Problem from device manager the system shows that viasraid controller is needed , I have the mobo cd and the system finds and installs fron there, to finish installation reboot required, it is then that the system hangs and I can only get back in via Recent good configuration(F8) Safe mode also will not install. The system is recently formatted and installed and no other programs have been loaded yet.? any ideas

If you load the viasraid drivers your computer will see the sata hardrive as the boot device and try to load from there.
As there is no operating system installed on it your computer will crash.
You must uninstall the viasraid drivers. If your are not using a RAID array (as you are not) then they are of no use.
