by doing scans with mcafee and ad-aware,ccleaner would these have deleted all messages in webmail, many thanks for any help

No. If you are using Blueyonder's "web-based" interface (rather than an email program such as Outlook Express) to manage your mail, the messages will remain on Blueyonder's mail server until you delete them online.

They are not stored locally in your computer for these applications to be able to delete them. In any case, messages stored in an email program in the PC should't be deleted by these programs.

There is always the risk when using web-based mail that problems with the host's systems could result in the loss of your messages. By using a locally based email program, you can set up your own backup methods to ensure you don't lose messages.

Only Telewest can tell you for certain if a problem at their end caused your messages to be deleted, although they should have safeguards in place to prevent this from happening.
