Bluetooth, ms word and IP addresses

Since installing a USB/bluetooth adaptor (to sync my phone & outlook) ms word and access both try to connect to IP address 127.0.0.1 when started.

My first thought was that I had introduced a virus, but AV scan, spybot and adaware scans revealed nothing.
127.0.0.1 is my own machine (I think). I cannot think why word and access would do this. If I block the access with Zonealarm they work fine.

Is bluetooth a secure technology?
Any ideas?
