Hello
I decided to have another go at bluetooth today but when I went to the control panel (XP SP2) the bluetooth devices option has disappeared.
Does anyone know how I can get it back?
Thanks

First of all is there a bluetooth device build in on your computer or a USB bluetooth dongle that you attach to a USB port

If it build in check device manager and see if listed as you might have to install the driver

If not build in and a USB dongle reinstall the driver from the bluetooth CD

Bluetooth was enabled on my computer a few months ago but I had trouble connecting my device, so I gave up. The bluetooth option has completely disappeared from my computer where it used to show clearly in control panel. I have searched device manager and it has disappeared from there too. Any ideas?

None?

It should be listed in device manager if installed

Download SIW and see if the bluetooth card show up

Do you have to switch it on by using the FN key??

Definitely not in device manager. No idea what SIW or FN key is!

SIW is a program that will give you information on all the hardware and software on your computer

start>run>type>bthprops.cpl

Hi
I tried both SIW and the bthprops.cpl and no bluetooth has turned up. It looks like Ill have to do a reinstall if I really want to use bluetooth. It doesn't seem worth the hassle though when USB is faster and easier.
Thanks anyway.
