bluetooth dongle

i have bought a usb bluetooth dongle and windows xp wont let me install the software for it yet my mate did it on his computer and it worked fine. it keeps saying that windows doesnt recognised it as a registered device or something similar. please help meeeee!

Some items need the software installed before you plug it in. I don't know if this is the case with this item, I suggest you have a look at the manual. If you didn't get a manual have a look on the disk as its probably on there.

So even with the bluetooth dongle not plugged in it won't install the software but it would install on a friends PC. Puzzling. I don't suppose theres a sinificant difference between your PC and you mates, such as different operating system, he has USB 2.0 and you have USB 1.1 or anything like that thats different.

Failing that I think you will need to say exactly what it says when it comes up with the error in order to trace whatever the fault is.
