I think this is a exception error could be a driver don't know what though you should also increase your ram to 500mb.
Have you loaded anything new of late??

hard to say unless you can give us some more information about your system, operating system etc and what you were doing at the time please.

try typing the errors into the search box click here

  hugh-265156 21:07 17 Nov 03

ok sorry i did not see you said you have xp pro.sorry.

  hugh-265156 21:12 17 Nov 03

cant find any info on these errors even if i substitute the o `s for a zero.apart from the "OXC0000005" error but most of the listings dont mention xp and are mostly 95/98/nt related.

  hugh-265156 21:14 17 Nov 03

have you got windows all up to date?

update all your hardware drivers also.

  dironfist 21:24 17 Nov 03

had these errors before when building machines, normally points to either a faulty cpu or memory

  Legolas 21:53 17 Nov 03

Like dironfist I have had similar error messages and in my case it pointed to a memory problem, if you have two sticks of memory take one out and try with one, or try the memory stick in another slot.

  ahales42 22:38 17 Nov 03

I got the message stop:0x0000008e. Turned out the new mem sticks i`d just installed just were not working on my system Returned them to the shop, got different ones and all is fine now. So sounds like your memory.

Thank all will try changing memory in another slot. Wiill post results.
Pete

Thanks to all for help in resolving problem. Updated Via 4 in 1 drivers for mainboard in the end.
