Blue Screen Software or Notebook???

I have a new notebook and (touchwood ) hae had no probs loading progs etc. I just tried to install Microsoft Office from a new disk and a few seconds after clicking "Install", the notebook crashed, resulting in the blue Screen of Death :(
I hae tried twice more with the same results each time.
I can't try the software on a different PC as you only get two installs of it.
Looking at the Disk it appears to have a small flaw- like a hair, scratched into the surface. Do you think it is the notebook or the software causing this to happen?
I'll get on to the software vendors tomorrow and hope they can help but any pointers would be appreciated!
Thanks:)

If the CD is damaged then that is likely to be the problem.

A replacement disk is your best bet.

I really hope that's it and that the vendors are helpful!!
Thanks for your reply :)
