Hi all

Just turned my Dell inpriron laptop on and got a blue screen with an error message saying ' hard failure'

powered off the laptop and re-booted and got a black screen asking if i wanted to reboot using microsoft XP

Does anyone know what this error message is? seem to be on my laptop now problem free??? any thoughts would be appreciated!

thanks all

Marc

possibly your hard disk had not got up to speed on a fast boot.

This has happened to me in the past if laptop has not been used for a while or kept in the cold.

Just a thought.

All the best.

did you happen to make a note of the stop error message number (e.g. 0x0000000A).
If you get it again take a note of this number and visit click here which will help you decifer exactly what it means.

Good luck!

did not get the error message number, but will do should it happen again!

no error screen brings good news, but it may be a temporary glitch which the system has 'fixed' itself. Do keep an eye on it and get that number if it happens again. Any more help, you know where to come!
