blue screen error

when i try to start up i get a blue screen a problem has been detected -----UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME tec info stop:oxooooooed(ox80ebb998,oxcoooooo6,oxoooooooo,oxoooooooo)
when i try starting in safe mode windows xp pro windows starts to load then 1 second later screen filles up with drive info then jumps back to blue screen the only way i can clear it it to pull plug as nothing will work freezes

It could be your hard disc or Windows is corrupt(see above link) but before you follow the instructions in the link.......

Try checking that the IDE ribbon cables are fully secured in their sockets(try another cable if you have one)

Try entering the BIOS setup as the computer boots and choose to load the default settings (or clear the cmos with the motherboard jumper.)
