Blue Screen after RAM upgrade

  JoeA 14:45 19 Mar 11

I have upgraded the RAM on my ASUS M3A76-CM Motherboard. I had four sticks of PC2-4200 512Mb in originally. The upgrade is two sticks of 2GB PC2 6400 RAM. I find that Windows 7 (64bit with SP 1)shuts itself down with the blue screen and message:- windows has shut down to protect itself. The only change is the RAM. Any ideas. All help greatfully received.

Try it with 1 stick just in case one is faulty.
And make sure they are seated properly.
