Bleu screen error when I try to install 2000 or XP

I get a blue screen error saying I have bad sectors or a virus when I try to install Windows 2000 or XP I have scandisked the drive OK and I do not have a virus. Any ideas I can install ME OK I am running a pentium 4 1.5 gig and a 20 gig hard drive.

I suspect your Master Boot Record (mbr) may be damaged or infected.

Boot with a 98 bootdisk and at the prompt

A:\>

type in

fdisk

and hit Enter

and follow the prompts to remove the partition on the drive.

Now type in

fdisk /mbr

and hit enter.

Boot with the XP pc and at setup set a new partition and xp will format it and load.

Fujitsu had a huge problem with hard drive failures of all types, check your drive and see if it is a MPG3xxx series. Heres a link to an article in the Register click here
