have recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, video card, and operating system from Win 98SE to Win XP pro.I formatted the C: drive and did a fresh install of windows. Everything was working fine but over time I am getting a fault that when I switch the computer on the machine fires up but nothing appears on the monitor, I then hit the reset button and the computer fires into life, as normal. I have all the latest drivers for my hardware installed does anybody know what can be causing this?
Spec is. AMD Athlon XP2200
Creative GeForce 5200 63MB
256Mb Kingston PC2100 DDR memory
K rock Motherboard.

I Have seen this on some older systems after upgrade to XP, my cases it has been due mainly to some compatibality problems with the monitor and xp. Usualy the monitor is a 15" or 14" made before 2000 as I don't know how old you monitor is it might not be this.

I think you have got it my monitor is about 3-4 years old but the only drivers I could get for it were for win2000. thanks
