The other day I decided to buy a 250 Gig HD from EBAY, sure enough I got a great bargin and got the drive 2 days later. The thing I would like to be sure of, is it ok to convert to NTFS or is there something I am missing.

If you only use it for XP so such then make it NTFS I would chop the drive up into four if it was mine

Why bother to split the drive up into 4 or enything else, surley it is better to have one big drive, than 3 or 4 small ones in efect. I have 2 200 Gig drives and would never split them up they fill up fast enough as it is. But yes use NTFS as it is more secure than FAT 32 etc.

Because Even NTFS Cluster size goes up with Partition Size. Also it's easier to Backup C:\ if it smaller and Programs are loaded to D:\ rather than C:\ I would create the first three as 50Gb and the Last as one Big one for Video files
