bios and xp format

windows xp home edition, 2.4 athlon, 768 pc2100ddr ram, sapphire 9700 pro and ecs k7 s5a mobo.

If I reformat and reinstall xp will I lose bios updates. Reason i ask is that when i had 1.9 athlon upgraded to 2.4 athlon shop did a flash and bios update so mobo would take 2.4 athlon. I don't know how he did it and i wouldn't like to try it myself. would i lose that bios update if i formatted xp and reinstalled it? also, i updated the sis735 chipset recently - would i have to reinstall it?

bios update overwrites the bios info on the bios chip on your motherboard. This has nothing to do with your hard drive!

BIOS as nothing to do with XP they are worlds apart get on with it
