I've just built a computer. The motherboard is Asus A7N8X-X. Processer is 2600XP+. I've got 256 PC2100 DDR RAM.

When I boot my computer, it takes atleast 20 seconds to read the ram. Its like as if its counting the ram.

Do I need to change some settings in the bios?

Please help!!

Yes there is someting in the bios, Quick Power On Self Test or something similar.

Ok I'm going to try that.

No luck. I disabled the quick power on Self test and it took even longer to count the ram. So I had to enable it.

The quesion is will i need to update the bios?
