Recently bought new Asus motherboard (as above) with new memory and new CPU (AMD K7 2600 MHZ*333* XP) and was in the advanced section of the bios, and saw that the CPU speed was set at 2083 mhz(other options are, manual, 1250, 1667, 2500)The CPU frequency multiple is set at 12.5x and the CPU external frequency is set at 166/33. Is that the right settings for that processor as im not sure it is. Plus the memory frequency is set to auto, or should it be set to 333?

Did the motherboard come with a User's Manual? Usually all the above details/instructions can be found in one. Check the disk that came with the mobo if there's no paper Manual. If you don't have a Manual you can d'load one from here - click here. Click on the 'Manual' link at far right. [click here for the Asus A7V8X-X main page for more info/links if you need them]. You can help yourself or wait for someone else who knows the answers to your queries. Good luck, G

2083MHz is the right speed for an 2600+AthlonXP Thoroughbred.Does it say 166/333.
Auto is ok for the memory. If you did it manually it would have to be set at 166 not 333
