bios settings?

hello,what is the differance between the best, and optimal settings on an ami bios?i know it might not be as stable on the higher settings,but what exactly does it "turn up"?

Your mobo manual will give you more info.

thanks for your reply,i have the manual but it does not tell me what it is that makes the differance.i have also tried google to see how it could help me,but thousands of answers to trawl through,i had hoped someone could have given me a simple answer,i will leave the thread running to see if i get any more replys.thanks again Indigo 1 for taking the time to answer.

i know that in my bios (award) optimal is the setting that the computer will run most stable if there has been a problem.
