Bios puzzle.

PC shut down normally yesterday. Today when I tried to start it, it was totally dead. Checked the power lead, changed the PSU and nothing.Eventually removed the cmos battery for half an hour, replaced it, and the PC started with no problems. If the bios was somehow corrupted could this be a sign that the motherboard is on way out? It now shuts down and starts normally.

Could be a sign that the CMOS battery is on its last legs. Might be a good idea to renew it.

Thanks for that Switcher. The 'mains' is always on through a USP unit even when PC is shut down. Before this problem the Time and Date was always accurate. Still, will invest in a new battery.
